RE: Turnip Head Music
Calling all Composers, all Music Writers!
The Man With A Turnip For A Head is well on it’s way to becoming a brilliant short animation. It’s now time we start scoring it.
What we need is music composed and performed to really follow all the rhythmic nuances of Gary Oldman’s reading of Metaphorest’s text. Make the music to follow every story beat with a lot of dynamics sticking right with Gary’s recitation.
Then once we have the score we can then start thinking about SFX and supporting audio.
Okay, it’s not an easy task to score to picture so I am very interested in what you got!
Thanks again

I suffer from this plague: social media fright. It is akin to stage fright—I forget my lines. I completely freeze up once the “Add a Text Post” appears, or the 140-allowed character box appears, or … you get the picture. I freeze. It’s the fear of public speaking and, really, let’s be honest here, folks—this is public speaking on a grand scale: tumblr, twitter … the list goes on. But instead of standing in front of an audience doing the absolute best impression of a deer caught in the headlights you will EVAH see, I suddenly quit moving—with my fingertips lingering on the keys. Instead of stuttering, my mind gets hiccups. My eyes are still just as big though.

Steampunk in Comics and Literature
Friday 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Location: 1A02
Steampunk traces its origins back to the science fiction of the 19th century, and the term itself was coined to describe a genre of Victorian sci-fi being written by modern authors. At the same time, steampunk and Victorian industrial age aesthetics have long held a great fascination for comic and manga artists of various backgrounds. This panel will discuss steampunk as a literary and artistic genre, examining steampunk’s literary origins and early examples of steampunk in comic book medium, as well as modern examples from both mediums such as Jay Lake’s Mainspring, G. D. Falksen’s Blood In The Skies, Alan Moore’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Girl Genius by Phil and Kaja Foglio. The panel will also feature first looks at upcoming titles and give aways from leading publishers such as Wildside Press, Orbit Books, and Yen Press.
